FreeInvoiceTemplates.org offers free invoice templates, a browser-based invoice generator and plain-English guides for freelancers, contractors and small businesses who need to bill clients and get paid.
What you will find here
- 20 invoice templates, each in Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and printable PDF. Each template has its own layout: hourly lines with dates, separate labor and materials sections, tax columns for VAT/GST invoices, service addresses for cleaning and lawn care, and so on.
- An online invoice generator that creates invoices, quotes, deposit invoices and receipts and saves them as PDF using your browser's print function.
- Guides on payment terms, deposits, reminders, numbering and the paperwork around invoices.
How the templates are made
The Word and Excel files are built with standard tables, fonts and formulas so they open in Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Sheets, LibreOffice and Apple Pages and Numbers. In the Excel files, line amounts, subtotals, discounts, tax and balance due are formulas; only the shaded cells need input. The PDFs are blank forms for printing.
Accuracy and limits
Guides are written to be practical and are reviewed when laws or common practice change, but they are general information, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Invoicing and tax rules differ between countries and states. Check what applies to you with your tax authority or an accountant.
How the site is funded
The site currently shows no advertising and sells nothing. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful; see the privacy policy.
