Free Blank Invoice Template
This blank invoice has every field labelled but nothing filled in: no sample company, no example line items. Print the PDF and complete it by hand, or open the Word or Excel file and type straight into the empty cells.
Printed blank invoices are still handy for on-site work where you are paid before you leave, such as repairs, deliveries, markets and call-outs.
What's in the template
- Line-item columns: Description, Qty, Unit price, Amount
- Your details, client (Bill to) block, invoice number, invoice date and due date
- Extra header fields: PO / Reference
- Subtotal, tax at a rate you set, total
- Amount paid and balance due
- Payment terms and instructions section
Completely blank: no sample text to delete. All three files share the same layout. The Excel version calculates line amounts and totals; the PDF is a blank, print-ready form.
Best for
- Hand-written invoices on site or at a market stall
- Keeping a printed pad of invoices in the van or bag
- Starting your own design from an empty, correctly structured layout
- Occasional invoices where you do not want to delete sample text
How to use this template

- List what you are billing, one line per item or task.
- Check the totals (Excel calculates them; in Word, work them out or use the online generator), then add payment terms and how to pay.
- Save as PDF and send. See how to send an invoice.

Tips for blank invoices
Number printed invoices before you use them
Write a sequential number on each printed sheet in advance, so you never issue two invoices with the same number.
Keep a copy
Photograph or scan each hand-written invoice before handing it over. You will need it for your records and for any follow-up.
Fill the blank Excel file and let it add up
The Excel version is blank but still has formulas: enter quantities and prices and the totals fill in.
